"FAMILY FITNESS FOR ENERGY" PROJECT
SMMG Energy club had voluntarily participated in the energy exhibition during the formal inauguration of the Tenaga Suria Brunei (TSB) at Seria. This is SMMG energy club's first real project. The project was financed by the Energy Division, Prime Minister Office. The project was supervised by adults which we called our "supporting team".
DAY 1
Gathering all the parts needed for the project. This was the first secondhand alternator we bought for the project. It was bigger than the one we actually use in our project. We had to find a smaller alternator because when we started to attach them to the bicycle via timing belt and pulley, it was hard and heavy to pedal the bicycle.
Thanks to Mrs Heather Alder for donating his son's old bicycle to us. Mrs Heather is the Assisstant Head Advisor to the SMMG Energy Club. She said the bicycle is already 11 years old. His son got it on his 10th birthday and now he is 21 years old.
The frame of the front tyre was a bit out of shape so we had to change it with other bicycle's tyre. If you notice the front tyre is a little bit smaller than the rear one. We took out the rear tyre so that we can attached a car timing belt which is connected to the pulley at the other end.
We were using used brackets to make the bicycle stand and to hold the alternator in place.... At a later stage we will have to cut the bracket short...
A piece of plywood was also used ....
It's time to put the car battery and the inverter in place. We also bought the multimeter to measure the voltage.
DAY 2
Varnishing the plywood using damp cloth...to make our project more presentable...Later re-attached all the parts together again.
This project was really worth the time and effort !!!...

THE FORMAL INAUGURATION OF THE TENAGA

The President of SMMG Energy Club, Md Hanif bin A. Halit was interviewed by journalist from local newspaper, The Brunei Times..and Radio Television Brunei (RTB). He was so confident!!...
There were many visitors came to our booth...The President of Energy Club, Md Hanif bin A. Halit, the Vice President, Md Harif bin A.Halit and the two boys from the Energy Club, Empene and Mohd Hazim have no problems answering all the questions from the visitors. They had done a good job.....
Other schools and colleges were also participated in the exhibition......They were also showcasing their projects. Others displayed their posters showing activities of their Energy Clubs.

IT WAS FUN!!! At the end of the day, we had the chance to take a picture with the Minister of Energy. And the best thing....we were in the national news and our project was published in the Brunei Times and Media Permata Friday issue!
