'YOUNG ENGINEERS ZONE'

TUESDAY, 29th NOVEMBER 2011

SMMG Energy Club was proud to be invited to display the 'Family Fitness For Energy' in the Young Engineers Zone at Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC) in Seria for a period of 6 to 12 months.

We are very proud to represent SEKOLAH MENENGAH MENGLAIT at OGDC.  And we are proud to represent Energy Club at Young Engineers Zone!...

Take a closer look...Yes!..That's MENGLAIT all right!

The official opening ceremony of 'Young Engineers Zone' started with the arrival of the Guest of Honour, the Head of Learning & Organizational Effectiveness, Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sendirian Berhad, Yang Mulia Hj Lani Bin Abd Samad.

After the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, the Head of Oil and Gas Discovery Centre, Yang Mulia Haji Irwandy Bin Hj Lois, made a welcoming speech.  Followed by the speech from the Guest of Honour.

Certificates were presented to all the participating schools after the Guest of Honour Officiate the 'Young Engineers Zone'.  Taking the certificates on behalf of SM Menglait was The President of Energy Club, Md Hanif Bin A. Halit.

Then, The Guest of Honour went into the exhibition hall to have a look at the Schools' projects.

Our 'Family Fitness For Energy' was right at the corner of the exhibition hall.  Md Hanif had a lot of confidence explaining how the pedal power works.

We had the chance to get a shot of all the Schools' Projects in the 'Young Engineers Zone'......

St Margaret's School

Sekolah Menengah PAP Hajah Masna : Water Rocket

Our competitor during Brunei Energy Expo, Pusat Tingkatan Enam Meragang : Wave Energy

Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Isteri Hajah mariam : Lego Mindstorm and Windmill

Maktab Anthony Abell, Seria : Alternative Energy and Energy Change

Chung Ching Middle School : MJV
and
Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Umar Al-Khattab : Micro Mouse

Maktab Kejuruteraan Jefri Bolkiah sent three projects :

One : A Model of Home Automation

Two :  Traffic Light using Programmable Integrated Circuit (PIC)

And three :  Robotics

SM Menglait's Bicycle Generator : 'Family Fitness For Energy'

Correction! Correction!.....There is a little bit of mistake to the title of our project.  It should be 'Family Fitness for Energy'.  And... the energy produced is supposed to be DC to AC (NOT AC to DC).

The highlight of the day was when the guest of honour had the opportunity to drive the "car" project from Sekolah Vokasional Sultan Bolkiah.

The day ended with the refreshment.  We drove back to Bandar at 11.30am.  It was a very satisfying and memorable event especially when your hard work had been recognised.  Congratulation to SMMG Energy Club members!!!...
