VISIT TO OIL AND GAS DISCOVERY CENTRE (OGDC) IN SERIA ON THE 26th NOVEMBER 2011

On Saturday, 26th November 2011 we had a visit to OGDC in Seria.  The small group visit was attended by Head Advisor of Energy Club, Teacher Hjh Siti Khadijah Hj Damit, The President of Energy Club, Md Hanif Bin A. Halit and Vice President I, Md Harif Bin A. Halit and also Md Hazim Bin Awg Mokti.  We started the 1 1/2 hrs journey from SM Menglait to Seria at 7.30am.  We reached OGDC at almost 9 am.  Upon our arrival, the reception welcomed us and asked us to rest at the lounge area.  

Later we were allowed to go into the exhibition hall.  We went into the first hall where we saw a lot of posters about earth's plates and exhibition of types of rocks.  Most of these posters are relevant knowledges for Geography and Science subjects.

Then, it leads to another hall where we saw the nodding donkey and mannequin showing how they drilled oil and gas.   

Next, we had our best time in the puzzle and illusions hall.  There are a lot of games and puzzles to try out.  Our favourite game was the mind ball where it tests our stress level. The most relax person wins the game.  Guess who was the relax and cool person?  H  A  Z  I  M!!!!  He beat everybody including students from other schools.

Hanif was surely stressful....He had to keep his head down..yet the ball still went towards him...Relax buddy,  its a long holiday after 'O' level exam, enjoy yourself...

They also have pedal generators!  Ours is the secondary school version.  Not as good as theirs, but at least we have showed everybody that we manage to do the similar...Give a hand of applaud to SMMG Energy Club!!..

  

We had our lunch at the restaurant at OGDC before we drove back to school.  Another long journey...Prepared to go to sleep in the car...We will come back to OGDC on Tuesday for the opening ceremony of the 'Young Engineers Zone'.
